8th Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival
To mark the 150th anniversary of the Société des Bains de Mer, the programme features prestigious artists from 26 to 30 November 2013
As every year for the past eight years, jazz is coming to the Monte-Carlo Opera with the Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival.
On 26 November, to open the festival, Brad Mehldau and Mark Guiliana will present a new work, "Mehliana," while Juan Carmona & the Larry Corryzel Quartet will share their passion for flamenco and blues.
On 27 November, the Marcus Miller Band will be back and will perform with the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra.
The legendary group "Remember Shakti" with John McLaughlin will perform on 28 November.
The evening of 29 November is devoted to talented young artists from the European jazz scene.
Finally, on 30 November, jazz, soul and funk will take centre stage with Maceo Parker (James Brown's right-hand man and a pillar of funk music); James Hunter (English soul and blues performer) and Charles Pasi (young singer and harmonica player, the new star of jazz and blues).
Jon Regen will be at the American Bar at the Hôtel de Paris. Often compared to Harry Connick Jr and Billy Joel, he will perform every evening from 26 November to 1 December from 8 p.m.
Also from 26 to 30 November, there will be a photographic exhibition by Philip Ducap, "Jazz at the Opera," in the Atrium of the Casino.
