Mateo Mornar’s Sculptures in Monte-Carlo
Art Comes to the Boulingrins Gardens for the Summer
Croatian sculptor Mateo Mornar, who has lived on the Côte d’Azur since the age of ten, will show his exhibition “Homage to Woman” in the hall of the Café de Paris from 13 July to 31 August 2010.
His latest work, “Hymn to Life” can be admired by all in front of the Café de Paris from 13 July to 31 August. It’s a huge bronze weighing approximately one and a half tons and is a homage to life and feminine charms. Mateo Mornar has spent several years sculpting the rounded shapes of women in their prime. Always on the lookout for new techniques, he is currently developing “cubic” shapes. In parallel, from 2 July to 31 August 2010, the Boulingrins Gardens will be the setting for two other large works by the artist from his animal series, The Hippopotamus and The Tiger, which will no doubt sit very elegantly in the gardens.
