The Junior Chamber International of Monaco has invited the Monegasque Businesswomen and businessmen for a procession on electric bikes in order to demonstrate «a different way of transportation » in Monaco.
Numerous participants followed this invitation and joined the movement « bouger autrement et dans la bonne direction » (Move differently and thus in the right direction), which was the theme of the European Week of Mobility. Divisions of the Monegasque Government, residents as well as Monegasque companies crossed cheerfully the Principality on their electric bikes, and same with great facilities and no personal efforts , even uphill !
The movement left the district of Fontvieille to go uphill to the old town of Monaco for a group picture, taken in front of the Palace. Then, the participants moved towards their final destination, the beach Larvotto, by crossing the harbour « Hercule ». The pedestrians as well as the tourists admired this particular view, so different and so ecological. For this moment, the electric bikes were the stars in Monaco.
Once arrived at the final destination, the beach Larvotto, electric and hybrid cars such as the Renault TWIZY, the Mitsubishi MIEV or the Smart were for try out, organised by the Directorate of Environmental Affairs Monaco.
